Nothing Like Saying Sleep Tight With A Warm Glass of….Bacon????

I know you may have heard from many people that it is not good to eat before you go to bed, especially any sort of “hearty” meal like beef, roast, or bacon.

Well it looks like bacon can now be had for breakfast and a late night snack according to this study.

According to this study at the Maastricht University Medical Centre in the Netherlands, they say that “This is the first study to show that protein ingested immediately prior to sleep is effectively digested and absorbed, thereby stimulating muscle protein synthesis and improving whole-body protein balance during post-exercise, overnight recovery.”

Again this is the first study, and that means there needs to be more to prove it.  They also only did this study with 16 young males and no females.  Does 16 seem statistically relevant enough?

What are your thoughts?  Do you think some ribs before bed will improve your lean muscle mass or have you waking up with a heart attack?
